Manually Updating the Listify Theme

You should receive an email notification every time the Listify theme is updated. If you do not, please ensure your ThemeForest email address is up to date in your account settings.

Create a Backup

Important: Before making any changes to your theme, take a complete backup of your site. You can follow this guide for a free backup solution:
Making a complete backup of your WordPress

  1. Visit ThemeForest.net and go to your Downloads page. While you’re there, please consider rating the theme 🙂
  2. Click the Download button next to the Listify theme and select Installable WordPress File Only to download the theme ZIP file.
  3. Temporarily switch your theme to a default WordPress theme: Go to Appearance > Themes, find the WordPress “Twenty Fifteen” theme, and click Activate.
  4. Delete the current Listify theme (parent theme) by clicking on the Listify theme preview, then click the Delete link at the bottom right. Confirm by clicking OK. Note: Only delete the theme if you have not made any direct CSS or core file changes. Always make your customizations via a Child Theme.
  5. Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme, then click Choose File. Select the downloaded ZIP file named themeforest-9602611-listify-wordpress-directory-theme-wordpress_theme.zip, click Install Now, and once installed, activate the new Listify theme.
Note: If your previous Listify theme folder was renamed to something different than the original, you will need to rename the new theme folder to match it. Changing the theme folder name may cause loss of theme-specific customizations such as menu locations and customizer settings.
